Otis lives with Sarah and Matt (our son) and has the best life as an only “child”.
Otis gets to go everywhere, he’s not only a neighborhood favorite, but he’s also a favorite guest at Starbucks for the pup cup (he often uses those puppy eyes to get an extra dollop).
We aren’t sure Otis knows that he’s a dog. He has his own seat in the car, get’s to spend the day with mom at her job as a vet tech, and he’s always right by their side while relaxing in the evening.
Health/Color/Size/Coat Texture
Otis is our up in coming pup and we have high hopes for him. We will begin health testing when he comes of age.
His parents are genetically clear of all DNA-testable traits.
Temperament & Personality
Otis is very curious, he loves to learn and investigate, but doesn’t startle easy. We expect his puppies to carry on this curious personality and relaxed temperament, making excellent family dogs with potential in therapy work.
Why He's in the Program
Right from the start we noticed that Otis was a special boy. While many pups startle at new noises, as would be expected, Otis investigated with calm curiosity: he was eager to learn, but not so boistrous that he got himself in trouble.
We believe he will be a great stud for the therapy line of pups in our program.
He has Started Training
Otis is off to a great start! We are hopeful for him to continue his training and eventually become a certified therapy dog. He has wonderful potential and we are excited to watch him grow.
Our Local Politician
Otis is our local politician. He has a bigger friend circle than most, when he walks in the neighborhood he’s given the nod from all boys and a wink from the girls. He welcomes meeting everyone, whether dog, mailman, vet clinic patients, and the cat … although part of his loving relationship with his family cat often ends in a friendly game of chase.
Some people have noticed his striking appearance as a doppelgänger for Kevin Costner’s pup, Bobby, although we think Otis has a slightly cuter nose.
He is very social and loves meeting new friends. He greets everyone warmly and is ready to play.
